5 Spring activities your kids will love

I don't know what it is about spring, but it seems like this time of year we always do the most STEM, art, and learning activities. Maybe we are just finally out of our seasonal depression? Regardless, we LOVE trying new things, and last spring I shared a bunch of fun ones here on the blog. In today's post, I am reflecting back on those activities and sharing our favorites. If you are looking for a spring activity your kids will love, check out the post below.

1. Walking Water

One of my very first blog posts here at The Meck House, Walking Water is a super fun STEM activity for kids. Using materials you can find around the house, this science experiment is a must-try this spring. My kids loved watching the water "walk" up the paper towels and were amazed when the colors mixed creating new colors and ultimately the entire rainbow. Check out my full blog post for the step-by-step guide and materials list.

2. ABC Egg Hunt

Whether you are a home-school parent or just a mom who likes educational activities like me, you are going to love this ABC Egg Hunt. I always do this one in the days following Easter using the leftover plastic eggs. With a little prep, you will have an activity your kids will want to do for days! Check out this spring activity here. You won't regret it!

3. Nature Color Wheel

Do you love a good nature walk but hate when your kids start complaining because they are bored? If so, check out my full post on the nature color wheel here. Spring is the perfect time to try out this activity. As the plants start to grow and bloom you will have a wide variety of colors around for you to observe and discuss with your children.

4. Easter Egg Potato Stamping

If you don't mind getting a little messy, and have some potatoes in your pantry, you will love this easter egg potato stamping activity. My kids are always so happy when I pull out the paints and this one did not disappoint. This activity is especially great if you are looking for an activity to do over Easter weekend.

5. Bubble Painting

The final activity I wanted to share with you today is perfect for those sunny spring days. If you are able to get outside I definitely recommend trying out bubble painting. It's a little too messy for indoor play in my opinion. Check out the full details here, but I love it for spring because the Easter bunny always seems to bring an excessive amount of bubbles every year and this is a great way to use them up. Just mix a little food coloring with your bubbles!

If you try out one of these 5 spring activities be sure to share it and let me know how it goes! You can even tag me @themeckhouse_blog on Instagram. I can't wait to hear how much fun your kiddos have.
