Newspaper Art: Simple Process Art Activity
Process art is when the goal of the activity is not a final result, but instead the movement in which you are creating the art. For young children, this can be a time to experiment with different objects and materials without the pressure of it being perfect. Today's activity is a simple way to paint, perfect for toddlers and young kids. I am calling it, "Newspaper Art". Check out my post below for the materials and directions for this simple, yet fun activity!

Materials Needed:

All you need for this activity is craft paint, an old newspaper, thick paper, and paper plates. These supplies cost me zero dollars as I had everything around the house!
Directions
Step 1
Pour paint onto paper plates. Be sure to use 1 color per plate.
Step 2
Rip the newspaper page in half and crumple it into a ball. Repeat to have the same number of balls as you do paint.

Step 3
Dip newspaper in paint and dab onto paper.
Step 4
Continue exploring with different colors until you have made your masterpiece!

Our thoughts
It is really so simple. Just 4 steps and zero cost. Our kids loved this activity and ended up creating several newspaper art pieces. Have you tried process art before? What objects have you used to create a work of art? I would love to hear about it in the comments!
