Weekly Recap: I am 29!

Another week, another weekly recap. Today I am sharing the fun we had on my birthday as well as a few other things we did this past week.

We started off the week using our family pool pass for the first time. This was unfortunately the only chance we had this week due to weather, so we wanted to take advantage while we could. The kids had a blast! The water was a bit cold for this momma, but I made the best of it. We plan to go back every day next week. The forecast is calling for sunshine and 90 degrees!

Tuesday was my 29th birthday. I actually love birthdays, but I definitely felt the "I'm just another year older" funk at the start of the day. The kids wished me happy birthday right away, and Carl made me breakfast, but I was still feeling a little blah. Luckily by lunch, I snapped out of it. Carl bought me my favorite tacos and brought them to me during my lunch hour. While he was home, the doorbell rang with a flower and chocolate delivery! I wish I took a photo of the chocolates because they were SO good.

After lunch, Carl returned to work and the kids and I set up a tent in the backyard. We decided to do a movie & campout for my birthday celebration that night. This was the kids' first camping experience so they were super excited. When Carl got home from work, he grilled out cheeseburgers, hotdogs, corn, and stuffed mushrooms. We then roasted some marshmallows and made smores. I tried out a new gluten-free graham cracker and it was yummy. They reminded me of soft gingerbread cookies. It was the best "birthday cake" a girl could ask for!

We ended the night with a movie. Carl brought his projector out from the basement movie room and set it up so we could watch it while laying on the bed in the tent. The kids chose Sonic 2, and we all fell asleep before it was over.

Wednesday was another exciting day. If you follow me on Instagram, you already saw my post about the bubble experience. Our library has a wonderful summer program, and this week they had a bubble expert come and show us how to make giant bubbles. The kids spent an hour experimenting and having the best time. I will say it was magical even for me.

We did a few learning activities this week too. You can check out the ABC Seashell Hunt here and the nature color hunt here. We also did a snack time STEM project and an Ice Cream math activity but I haven't had time to write up a post about those yet. They are on my list along with the Very Ugly Bug activity we did a few weeks ago. Anyway, here is a picture from our nature walk. The kids had the best time and loved the color hunt activity.

I had to snap this picture of them at the nature preserve Thursday. They were having a blast running up and down a big hill located in the park.

Yesterday we ended our week on a pretty chill note. We had big plans to build another raised garden bed, but the weather had other plans. I took advantage of being stuck inside by building Sofia's new bed frame that came earlier this week and hanging out with the family. We are hoping to do the raised garden bed today so I will let you know next week how that goes. For now, here is a photo of our sugar baby watermelons! They started to pop up and I could not be happier.

How was your week? Any questions for me? Let me know in the comments below.

💕💕sending love and momma to momma support,

Kaylin
